Enterprise Facilitation

According to a World Bank study, Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) in Pakistan account for 30 percent of the GDP, contribute to 25 percent of export earnings and employ 80 percent of the non-agricultural labor force. While medium sized enterprises find it easier to access finance, micro and small enterprises lack of access to formal finance, resulting in 90 percent of this market as still unserved. This is where Ihsaas Trust comes in. We work with talented and skilled people from the bottom-of-pyramid segment who dream of starting their own micro-businesses but lack the knowledge and resources to start and run one successfully. Our aim is to promote social mobility by supporting people in becoming micro-entrepreneurs and create end-to-end business advisory services for this segment. We take the entrepreneur-centric approach on this and help micro entrepreneurs through capacity development and access to initial infrastructure needed to start.

How we work

All potential beneficiaries under the enterprise facilitation stream have to go through the following successive stages to be included in the program:

Surveys and interviews to check:

If they are street smart (Resourcefulness)
If they are willing and able to put in the work (Determination)
If they have a fallback option that will deter them from giving their best effort to the business (Grit)
